Swoopo Questions
Throughout the 5-day Swoopo course, you sent in some great questions
(and a lot of them!) Keep reading for answers to some of the top questions...
Question #1: How Much Do I Pay if I Win?
This is usually confusing for new Swoopo bidders. And the answer
used to be even more confusing, because Swoopo offered something
called 100%-off auctions.
Thankfully, those awful 100%-off auctions are no longer. Now
when you win an auction on Swoopo, your costs are:
- The amount of bids you placed (which you've already paid for)
- The final cost of the auction (yes, you still need to buy the item)
- The cost of shipping (for physical products only)
So to illustrate, if you use 22 bids to win an iPod Touch for
$17.25, your costs are:
- $16.50 on bids
- $17.25 on item
- $12.90 shipping
Total = $46.65
Question #2: How Do I Beat the BidButler?
I get this question all the time. People see BidButlers winning
auctions and want to know how they can "beat the BidButler." But I
say if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Use the BidButler and you'll start joining the overwhelming
majority of winners using this powerful tool. I have an entire
chapter in the Swoopo Manual devoted to the BidButler - but I don't
want to leave you high and dry. Here's one BidButler tip:
Use a small BidButler increment to test the waters and see if other
BidButlers are set.
Why Does This Work?
If multiple BidButlers are set in the same price range, they'll
trigger each other and send the price soaring (and the clock too).
You don't want to spend too many bids on this technique, so use it
sparingly and set your BidButler for a narrow price range.
